DESIGNER Yumi Katsura

In 1964, she started her career as Japan's first bridal fashion designer. She is a pioneer and a leading figure in the Japanese bridal fashion world. As a creator of beautiful bridal scenes, she has held shows in the capitals of over 20 countries around the world, and has been called a bridal evangelist for continuing to inspire people's dreams for weddings through her bridal events. In 1993, she received the Foreign Minister's Award. In 1996, she was awarded the New Era Wedding Clothing Culture Award by China. In 1999, she became the first Asian to become a full member of the Italian Fashion Association, and since 2003, she has held an haute couture collection in Paris every year. In July 2005, she opened the YUMI KATSURA PARIS store in front of the Chanel flagship store on Rue Cambon in Paris, and in the fall of 2011, she made her re-debut in New York under a license agreement, and is engaged in global creative activities.
